It all started when...

I remember when I got my first digital point and shoot camera as a kid. No zoom, no focus and not even a display to see what the pictures looked like after taking them. I would just point, and shoot and then point, and shoot again. This camera went on family vacations with me and even just around the house taking pictures of the family dog, my family or things around the back yard.

I was first introduced to what I consider to be “creative” or “purposeful” photography while in high school using 35mm film. I was captivated right away with the ability to learn the entire process from picking out the correct film all the way through developing my photographs in a big room with the lights turned off and eventually creating the prints all in a classroom environment.

Although my roots will always be in 35mm film, with the introduction of digital, I chose to trade the rolls of film and a literally dark room for memory cards, digital sensors a digital darkroom, which at first was an uneasy mix of excitement and intimidation for me, but quickly became the new normal. My excitement around photography leads me to taking pictures of whatever captures my eye, but my true passion comes alive in God’s country. When stepping away from the hustle and bustle of life in the city, when all you can hear is the birds chirping and the water flowing something special happens. My goal is to accurately capture these experiences and transport my viewers to that exact moment.
